Our story
The Veterinary Students Association began in 2008 when the first cohort of vet students were enrolled at CSU. Now with over 300 members, our club has grown substantially however our philosophy remains unchanged. Our 2 main aims are to enhance the vet student experience and bridge the gap between the vet school and industry.
The VSA has many roles in the veterinary community. As students, we are aware that our 6-year degree is only the beginning of our lifelong learning journey. Through partnering with out generous club sponsors, we work to provide students with a diverse range of learning opportunities designed to compliment the CSU curriculum. In addition, our social events provide authentic networking opportunities and strengthen the bonds between students who will one day become colleagues. We also provide a merchandise range which is carefully designed to equip students with practical and versatile items allowing them to present themselves professionally both on farm and in clinic.
Finally, our ethos encompasses fostering a culture where students from all walks of life are excited to peruse a vocation in veterinary medicine. We actively pursue this through collating feedback from our peers and liaising with the vet school to implement lasting changes that will strengthen our position as future veterinarians.
